So You’ve Decided to Get Married
And you need a photographer!
If you’re looking for:
· A calm, grounded presence in an emotionally charged room
· Bold imagery without a bold personality overshadowing your day
· Someone who knows when to step in — and when to disappear
Congratulations, you’re in the right place!
THE EXPERIENCE
What it’s like to work together
( 01 )Before the camera
We start with a real conversation.
Not a checklist call — a chance to talk about your people, your priorities, and what actually matters to you. I help you think through the rhythm of the day, family dynamics, lighting, timelines, and the moments you want to protect.
You’ll feel prepared, supported, and confident that someone thoughtful is watching the details.
( 02 )The big day itself
I’m calm, observant, and quietly everywhere.
I won’t interrupt your ceremony or turn your wedding into a production. Instead, I watch for the subtle moments — the nervous laughter, the way your friends show up for you, the dance floor chaos later in the night.
When guidance helps (portraits, light, timing), I step in gently. Otherwise, I let the day unfold.
( 03 )After things settle
Within 24-48 hours you’ll receive sneak peeks to relive the energy while everything still feels fresh (and so you can post something pretty for faraway loved ones)!
Your full gallery arrives soon after — vibrant, carefully edited images that reflect the feeling of the day, not just how it looked.
The kind of photos that make you pause years later and say: “That’s exactly how it felt.
How Pricing Works
You are not hiring a camera. You are hiring ten years of knowing what a room feels like before something happens in it.
For couples who've spent time in spaces that didn't quite fit — queer couples, BIPOC couples, disabled couples, anyone who's navigated a vendor meeting while quietly managing that vendor's discomfort — the experience on the day is everything.
Here's what that day with me looks like in practice:
Pre-wedding conversations that go past logistics into what actually matters to you — your family dynamics, your priorities, what you want and what you're actively avoiding — and a timeline built around that.
Presence that reads the day as it unfolds without being told what's in it. No sudden questions, no visible confusion, no energy that puts the burden back on you when things shift.
Editing that sees everyone in the room correctly. Your skin tones rendered with intention. Your light treated honestly. Your mood preserved rather than overwritten by a preset.
Documentation of what's actually happening — which requires patience and instinct, not a shot list. The images that will mean the most to you are almost never the ones you would have thought to request.
This is what a decade of this work costs. It lives in the planning, the presence, and the editing — not just the hours you can see.

Talk to Henry to see if we can create a custom package that fits both our needs. Worth a try, right? I’d love to hear what you have in mind.
We take on a very limited count of projects per year on a reduced fee basis to members of the disability, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ communities.
-
Of course we do payment plans! Weddings shouldn’t be something you need to take out a loan for.
Contact our resident money guy, Henry. He’ll get you set up right.
-
Your wedding date is not reserved until a contract is signed and your non-refundable retainer fee is paid. This is industry-standard.
Retainer fees are 50% of the total package price, but contact us if you really want to reserve your date and want to make a different arrangement.
Did I mention we shoot 35mm film on a camera from the mid-80s? That click and rewind is a sound you never forget.

Wedding Client Affirmations
I do full-day coverage, intimate elopements, and sometimes fully custom work for couples whose love story doesn't have a pre-existing mold.
I build my wedding stories around your priorities — not a template designed by and for people who've never had to fight for the right to get married, be seen as a family, or exist in public without commentary.
No poses that erase your gender, your body, your disability, or your culture. No manufactured moments built around someone else's aesthetics. No performance for the unconvinced. You've spent enough energy on rooms that weren't built for you. This one is.
-
"All couples welcome" is what you say when you mean you'll get through it. I'm not interested in getting through it. I'm queer, I'm antiracist, I believe in science, and I will photograph your trans partner, your interracial family, your ceremony with no gender roles and no script, with the same care and intention I bring to every single session. You're not a diversity checkbox. You're who I built this for.
If any of that makes a vendor uncomfortable, that's useful information. It means you're not their client. You are mine.
-
You'll see yourself in this portfolio. LGBTQ+ couples, nontraditional ceremonies, couples of different races, people who don't fit the bridal magazine mold. That's not a special category here — that's just the work.
I'm not fine with it. I'm part of it. I'm queer. I’m disabled. I’m a leftist. I shoot queer weddings. I'm not an ally with a rainbow in my bio once a year or a keyboard warrior who’s never done community work— this is my community and these are my people. If your wedding doesn't look like the ones in every bridal magazine, good. Mine didn't either.

I know how to illuminate every skin tone in the room, not just the ones that show up most in photography tutorials. I don't assume pronouns, roles, or family structures. If you have mobility needs, chronic illness, or a disability that affects how your day is planned, we talk about it upfront and I build around it — without making it the whole conversation.
You've probably had to manage someone's discomfort before. A vendor who meant well but needed hand-holding. That's not free — it costs you energy on a day you don't have extra. I've done the homework.
*If you are a Deaf client, please mention this and I will prioritize finding an interpreter to facilitate our communication on the wedding day.
What you’re actually paying for
When you book Photos by Elliot, you're not just paying for someone to point a camera in your general direction. You're paying for —
( 01 )Images that see you correctly — your skin, your body, your relationship — and render it with intention
( 02 )Editing built around your day specifically — not a filter that works fine for most people.
( 03 )Calm, experienced presence that absorbs the chaos before it reaches you.
( 04 )Photos that look like you actually look, not a softened version made for someone else's comfort.
( 05 )Coverage that follows what's actually happening, not what's supposed to happen.

Still here?
Let’s do this.
I blend in seamlessly during your ceremony, celebrate fully at your reception, and somehow always end up with those dance floor photos that make everyone laugh the next morning. Guests often tell my couples how much they loved having me there.
At the heart of it all, I believe weddings — whether two people in a backyard or a packed reception hall — are about the marriage being established. The commitment. The joy. The people who show up for you.
If that’s what matters to you too, we’ll get along beautifully.
