Meet Elliot

(that’s me)

I'm from the South — the sweet tea, front-porch, take-your-time South — and that hospitality is not something I perform on shoot days. It's just how I move through the world.

I'm also a Counseling Psychology PhD student and a certified crisis worker, which means someone nervous in front of a camera registers to me as the easiest thing I'll deal with all week.

People relax quickly around me. They stop performing. They start actually being there. That's when the photographs get good.

When someone tells me they're not photogenic, I don't reassure them — I show them. There's a moment in almost every session where someone sees a frame on the back of the camera and something shifts. They stop seeing what they're afraid of and start seeing what everyone else already sees.

I've watched it happen with first-time moms terrified of their postpartum bodies, professionals who haven't been photographed since their grad school headshot, and brides who've spent months dreading the camera.

A decade of this work, trained under nationally published photographers in DFW and Austin, rooted now in Utah and Colorado — and that moment is still why I do it.

What you can expect from me

Before photography, I worked as a first responder — and that steady, grounded energy is something my couples consistently thank me for. On a day that moves quickly and carries so much emotion, I hold space for it all.

I won’t be the loudest person in the room. I won’t interrupt your ceremony. I won’t turn your day into a production.

Instead, I’ll be the quiet observer who sees everything.

My style is what I like to call curated reality. I capture what’s unfolding (the nerves before the aisle, the way your hands find each other instinctively, the unfiltered dance floor chaos) and gently shape it when needed.

A slight turn toward the light. A soft reminder to lift your chin and roll your shoulders back before you walk down the aisle. Small guidance, never forced moments.

You get images that feel like real life — just at its most beautiful.
